A low level of strategy is required which makes it good for younger kids. My 6 year old gets it, the almost 3 year old doesn't, but enjoys the "gobbling" part. We gifted it to a 5 year old and her 3 1/2 year old brother and they enjoy playing together. I think it's a worthy gift for that age range.
