This device does a great job killing small fruit flies. I can't figure out how to clean it. I just take it outside and shake it, though there is a tray you are supposed to remove. Sometimes the flies get zapped and fly out a little before dropping dead. When a fly gets zapped, it makes a quick but loud sound like an old-fashioned mouse trap being tripped. It startled me at first, but then I got used to it and thought good, another one gone! Great value for the money!

We've all been there. That elusive fly that dive bombs and then magically disappears as you swat it. They are attracted to this zapper like I am to chocolate. The light itself is quiet until it zaps a bug which can be quite startling if you are standing right by it at that moment. I'll deal with the zapping noise because it means the bug is DEAD. All I have to do is pull the tray out and empty dead bugs into the bin. I've collected dead mosquitoes, stink bugs, flies, fruit flies, and a hornet. This has been a bad year for stink bugs but my bug zapper is killing them as fast as they come in.

I live across from a dairy so there is no shortage of bugs. I have a zap wand but that’s not enough. On average I’ll kill like 4 during the day, and I suspect I’ll get that many or more at night now when I go to sleep. I also really hated the giant bug killer sticker so I peeled that off immediately so it looks more clean. Definitely worth it as long as you’re not bothered by how loud this thing is.

We leave it on 24/7 in a room, in the center of the house. For the short amount of time that it does the zapping, it's only a little loud. Warn new people what it is, when their standing near it (BEFORE it goes off). People who own dogs may have trouble at first for a short while. Just do a lot of petting. Say it's ok, it doesn't hurt, it's only a noise, you're a good boy/girl, over and over. My dog got adjusted to it. It doesn't even phase him now. I do recommend this product.

This thing is just terrific. Our house is replete with indoor plants, which, while fragrant and beautiful, do foster the occasional flying pest.
