Use method:

You have to learn to take it apart for cleaning, I have gotten to the point where I remove the motor to clean it well. It catches a lot of flies, the bait that comes with it doesn't work.

The bug zapper is solid doesn't get hot at all makes almost no noise unless it's zapping the hell out of bugs. Although it is not meant for mosquitoes I find quite a few in there. The retractable Trey is a nice feature but the only downside is that there's enough room for insects to fall on the side of it falling underneath it after they get blown to Oblivion. I have quite the firework show after I Corral all my pets in for the night.

I removed the outer grates because the large crane flies could not get in. this zapper exceeded my expectations in every way. we sat outside on mother's day with 18 guest and this thing just zapped away. I never saw anyone fanning away a fly or mosquito. just know that this thing makes a very loud zap but I love hearing it. I like everything about this bug zapper except the spring loaded side panel.... it is easy to release to clean the grid but difficult to close, needs a small lip on the bottom to push down the lower bar on the springs while allowing you to guide the top into the narrow channel. That said I hung this is in the garage hoping to prevent flies from following me into the house.... and it works! I empty the tray once a week and there are dozens of flies, bees, and moths, and hundreds of mosquitos, gnats, etc. in it each time. You do hear a sharp snap... but it's a rewarding sound!
