The holes on the plastic side are not as large as some people made it out to be. yes, with some finer loose leaf tea, some comes out but it's not horrible. I also don't know how some people were breaking the plunger part. You'd really have to push on it and even when I push all the way down it doesn't bend or anything. Really doesn't drip once pressed. I would totally get this to gift to my tea drinking buddies.

I love making tea with this tea infuser! It's durable and very easy to clean and use. It's my "go to" option when I'm in a hurry and want to make tea without having a mess to clean up. It strains the loose tea right in the mug, so I feel I'm getting all the tea flavor out of the leaves every time. The color choices are pretty neat, too! The only complaint I would have, is that the tea eventually stains the plastic, which I would assume would happen to anything that is not stainless steal. I haven't tried any specialized cleaning methods, except for soap and water, so perhaps something stronger (lemon juice, white vinegar, etc.) might get rid of the dingy look. No complaints, though. The strong design and shape are perfect!

i probably should actually use the thing before i review it but out of the box it looks awesome. my only concern is that one side is the fine mesh which was a big selling point for me but the other side is little holes in the plastic. this kind of defeats the purpose of one side being mesh, but i can still use tea bags in it so its all good. it does seem a little of a cheap design so i will update this after xmas as it will surely get a lot of use.

First off, I use this for herbal loose-leaf teas, and not black tea. Most of the negative reviews are using black tea. For what I use, the holes in the back are no issue. I only press the plunger about halfway and I am careful not to overfill the hopper.Compared to bagging, this is much easier, and the flavor is stronger. The only thing I noticed is that it does not stay vertical on its own. This may be due to using lower density teas. However, simply stir it a few times and it circulates well.

I bought this instead of an infuser that didn't have a plunger, because I hoped it would be easier and less messy to use at the office. I can say that I'm glad I went this route, because it is so easy to use at work. Once you squeeze out the excess liquid, you can set it down and although you do get a bit of spillage, it's much less than any other infuser I've used, plus it makes it easier to dump out the used loose tea. My only problem now is that I need to get another one for home use as well.
