    These are really nice tension rods. My apt does not allow drilling holes on the walls. I really need blackout curtains but my apt has blinds. So i bought these tension rods and they work perfectly. I got a little mad reading some of the reviews because they obviously don't know how to install a rension rod. These rods came with japanese packaging but the pictures themselves are very instructive. Basically you screw them 3 to 5 cm longer than your window frame, and then squeeze it into the frame. It hold my curtain and two super heavy tiebacks well. This is my first experience with tension rods, and I am happy with them.

    In short, these get the job done if you're looking to put up curtains for a cheap amount and don't care about appearance. I personally don't really care about the appearance and just wanted a non-intrusive way to have curtains on a few windows which these were perfect for. I paired it with a light curtain and so far they've stood the test of time (about two months with zero falls). You should know though that since they do extended from their initial size, there's a lip on the bar that prevents a fully smooth opening and closing of curtains. Basically, if you're dream is to rip curtains open and closed without a hitch, you may find yourself with a small hitch. If you're willing to just gently lift the curtain over that lip and/or don't need that type of result, you'll be just fine.
