I took plastic foam shelf liner with the holes (it floats!) and cut a donut shape...the outside is the diameter of my pot and the inside the diameter of the sprinkler unit. The unit stays in place, the water stays in place and drains through the holes after sprinkling. My pot is 12" diameter and about 4-5" deep. Love it!
