With the three modes, he was able to get used to flying the plane with all the gyros on before progressing to the next level where he could do some loops, etc. This is a light-weight plane, so don't plan to fly it in heavy wind. Also, find a clear area devoid of trees - or bring a long pole for when it inevitably gets lodged in the one tree to be found for miles around :) The propeller come off fairly easily (by design so the motor doesn't get damaged upon impact) so be sure to bring the spare ones, provided, with you in case you can't find it back.

The flight controller and gyro is very good, but sometimes will arrive defective, so you have to contact the seller, and they replace immediately with no hassle. Battery life is good; not stellar, but good overall with between 7 minutes if flying aggressively, and up to 18 minutes if gliding high with the motor idling. Overall, super easy to fly with no experience.
