The curler will stop if a loose hair gets caught, so I've learned to make sure that all hair is separated and then give the lock a twist before placing in the tool to keep the hair from spreading, especially when curling to the scalp. I've been using the lower heat setting that offers volume and waves rather than tight curls, and have been so happy with it. 10 times easier than any curling device I've used in the past, from hot rollers to flat irons to traditional curling irons. It's also very intuitive—if you feed your hair in incorrectly, it immediately beeps to let you know so you can avoid tangles. I don't think it would work as well for ultra-long hair, but it's great for shoulder-length and could probably even go shorter.

There is a learning curve, which is you have to take your time & section off your hair; then start curling. This is not a quick hairdo tool. But, sooo worth it, your curls will last 3 to 4 days.. I get 2 days of curls & 2 days of beachy waves when I'm feeling lazy about washing my hair. And, this defies you pay what you get rule; because I have tools I've paid 4 to 5 times more for & they are sitting in a drawer. This tool is on my bathroom counter constantly & I take it with me wherever I go. ( Well not recently, but hopefully I will again soon ).

I spent about 45 minutes curling my whole head the first time. You have to be careful about how much hair you put in at a time or it will tangle. I had to figure out the correct way to hold it and depending on which side is up, your curl may come out wonky. After the first go around though, it was much easier. Takes me about 15 minutes now that I know what to do. I have medium length thick hair. I encourage anyone who purchases to spend time watching some YouTube videos and learn from others mistakes. I absolutely love the iron! Perfect bouncy curls - not too loose, not too tight. The curls last for several days without product or touch ups. I am so impressed! Worth every penny!

    I have medium/long hair and I've personally found that the easiest way to use this is to comb my dry hair straight and then make a part down the middle all the way down the back and bring each section forward on either side of my face as if I were going to braid it. I then take a small section and begin curling from the back and releasing each curl, I work my way forward to the front. I complete each side this way and then just finger comb after the curls have cooled. I've got this down to about 20 minutes now but I admit that this appliance does get heavy and sometimes I just have to give it a rest. I've only had a problem with tangling a couple of times but the appliance gave a warning beep and then released my hair itself. I believe this was caused by my trying to feed too thick a section of hair at once. Using thinner strands works much better with better r
