It caught small and spiky stuff well like a small sea animal toys but not a little bigger size like KitKat. Still great as he also can experience some failures and challenges to try next time better.

One thing I noticed is the music volume is not controllable so we had to attach some thick papers on the speaker to reduce the sound. Hope it can be improved with a volume controller.

First off I want to say that it really can’t pick up anything heavier than a piece of candy or tiny toy BUT... if you tape or glue quarters to the sides of the claw it can pick up heavier items which is what I did and now it picks up the tiny squishies I bought for it. Also it opens wide enough for the two inch toy capsules. I didn’t find the volume to be obnoxiously loud while playing with it on the carpet. This is on a timer where the music gets faster until time runs out. (Parents - trial on error on how many candies to put in) too few or too many make it difficult. We have found upto the plastic wall where the candies drop is ideal. Most Dollar store candy bags (ind wrapped) work great with this toy. Age is suggested for older children but our 6 yr old uses this with no problem. Wouldn't suggest for kids any younger as it can be frustrating for young children. Its fun for adults too!
