Battery life was way better than other reviews, used it 5 hours on the lake, and 3 hours the next day on a different lake. Battery life is still good. It will let you know if fish are around, could be minnows or big fish, that's guess work... but for 40 dollars, it's well worth every penny!

I also tested in spots where I knew the fish wouldn't be and none showed up on the monitor. All in all a very good product. The only thing I would add to this would be to make a cable that could extend to 50cm for those who would be fishing from shore, then this would be superb. However, if you use a few pool noodles instead of floats, you should be able to get the full length.

I was able to verify that the fish that appeared on the screen were real, because I could see the wakes from the salmon swimming by. One thing though, mine quit working and Ithink it was because we were in heavy rain once, so keep it dry. You would think it would be more waterproof as it’s used for fishing.
