I feel like I just got a salon blow out and it was all done in 15 minutes (on 2nd day dried hair). I have the original Revlon one step brush and this is a shorter barrel (1.5 in). It's ceramic and glides smoothly through hair. A bit slippery to grab hair when rolling it up to the root. The original brush will get your hair dry in a pinch but this brush adds details to your layered pieces and adds more volume to the root. It gets hot and smoky like the original, so be mindful. 10/10 Definitely recommend!

I could use the lower heat setting, but I haven't had as much luck getting the shape to stick. I was surprised at how lightweight this dryer is. You will want to have your hair about 80% dry before using this dryer to avoid hair damage. It gets very hot. I am only able to use the low heat setting for my shoulder length fine highlighted hair. The high is extremely hot and not needed. It really doesn't give much more wave than a slight bend to my hair. There are definitely no curls after using it. It just gives you a fuller blown out look but if you want curls you will need to add a curling iron. I really o in s it though. It's very smoothing yo the hair I don't think this would work well on shorter hair. The barrel is large.

As others have noted, i let my hair air dry a little prior to using and I do use a blowout serum. I have semi thick hair and past my shoulders a bit. I'm probably a 3C for hair type. Although it's loud as if you're blow drying, it produces amazing curls cause the heat is strong (I set on high). If you have lots of layers no matter what length or texture, you will get “that look”.
