Can be hung or placed like a normal fan. The three brightness settings are perfect - the brightest lights up a 4-man tent with ease, and the lower settings are nice when you don't want to be blinded. The fan power is also surprisingly strong for such a small fan. At the highest setting, it's still pretty quiet and pushes a ton of air. Great purchase.

We were tent camping for 5 days and used it mainly at night to keep the air circulating. Hook is great to hang from ceiling of tent. Blue power light does stay on all the time while running. We didn’t have any issue with this but if it bothers you, may have to put a piece of tape over it. Battery life was amazing I had to charge it once on day 4. We had it on the lowest setting for the fan and occasionally used the light. It was well worth the purchase no more lugging around batteries as we were able to recharge from a portable power unit.

I have it over my bed for 'emergency' power outages, but turns out it's the perfect 4-brightness level reading lamp (I read every night before going to sleep and in the camper propped up in bed is the most comfy place) and great for when I want a lower level of air flow than I get with my regular fan (I use a fan as 'white noise' when I sleep), but sometime want extra air movement during the day to augment the A/C or heater in the camper. The flashlight has three settings and the medium setting is bright enough to read by. It's light weight, roughly two lbs, has a hideaway hook for hanging, a smooth swivel base, and a quiet motor. I love this fan so much that I bought three more. Two as gifts and an extra one for me that I use while the other is charging.
