This product is far superior to the basic black bag version in the stores. Granted, you are paying a fair amount more but it's night and day. For the few times a year we use this it is well worth it. The features, ease of use and nozzle/valve design make it a joy to have on the camping trip. The cheapo bag has a valve that leaks nonstop, and is really difficult to operate with shampoo in your face. This one is comparatively very easy to open and close. The shower bag has some features we likely won't use but could be handy for some- mesh pockets for toiletries, an attached mirror, and a couple of clip things on the corners I haven't figured out. But the killer feature is the LCD thermometer that tells you where the temp is- you won't freeze or scald. Overall construction is good, they should last for many years with reasonable care.

My new house won't be ready until October and I had no idea that my former home would sell on the first day. I purchased a 10x20 shed and placed it on the 35 acres I am building on. Going into my fifth week of 'roughing it,' I have relied upon this solar shower and use it every day. I've learned that it takes no more than 2 hours tops to reach a very comfortable temperature if you place it clear side up on the ground. Today was a cloudy day with a high of 70-degrees, and my afternoon shower was comfortably warm. Regardless of the outside air temperature and the sky cover, I have used this every day for four complete weeks with total satisfaction. Frankly, I use no more than 3 of the 5 gallons/use and shower for approximately 10 minutes. Excellent product. If I can use this every day for a month, you should have no problems over a camping weekend in the woods, etc.

I used this as a camp shower and it delivered a HOT shower at camp! I left it in the sun and watched the temp gauge for the water temp. Between 98 and 104 was the perfect water temp for a nice refreshing hot shower at camp! The best solar shower I have personally used.. my only caution is if the bag is not full, the water temp will be incredibly hot if left out for a lengthy time in the sun! (The 2nd day I only had half a bag of water and it was hot like out of my water heater turned all the way up! Steamy!) This solar shower delivers! I was impressed by how quickly the water warmed up when I used it and made sure it was directly in sunlight for about 1-2 hours depending on water level. (The first time I tried to use it, it was chilly out and my shower was far from hot since outside temp affects water temp even in the sun!) Great product and 5 gal gave me 2 days of showering at camp!

I travel a lot over the summer in my hippie dippie van which doesn't have a shower. I purchased this as a backup but it works great so I use it everyday while camping. I can get three showers out of it if I don't wash my hair, two if I do (I'm 5'6", 140lbs). I also use it throughout the year for rinsing off my Labrador after going to the lake or dog parks. Extremely handy to have around. The clasp on the handle is a bit cheap which is why I only gave durability 4 stars but the bag and the twist cap itself are great. I just replaced the cheap nylon handle with some nylon rope that I can change the length as needed. I did like the handle though...wish I could incorporate that onto my rope. The bag is fairly easy to clean as well. I use water/vinegar, same as my CamelBak. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a travel shower. Oh and it heats up fairly quickly. Overall very happy with it.

Thought it was a bit overpriced but it's worth it. Very well built. We camp for 2 weeks at a time and take a shower almost everyday. The other solar shower we had started to tear where the handle to hang is on our second trip out and we never fill any of our bags with the full 5 gallons. Usually only about 3, because of where we hang it. The only thing I would improve on this is a longer hose for the shower but I can buy tubing to fix that. We will be buying a second one next season as I also use Solar warmed water for dishes and handwashing.

I used this summer shower for THREE years before it finally broke down on me! My boyfriend and I were living on his land while we built a cabin. We used this shower while we were off the grid. It gets the water to a comfortable temp. The best way to use this shower is to get wet all over, turn the water off and then soap up then rinse. The water comes out pretty fast so it can be easy to run out quickly if you try to shower like a normal shower. Other than just figuring out how to make the most out of it, it's a great product. Great quality especially for the price.

We got two of these and we were happy we did. The nozzle works literally just like a regular shower head. You do have to keep them in the sun to retain the heat but even then the water never gets colder than room temp. They were easy to use and material was good quality. All of our other friends who bought cheaper versions had problems with either the seal to the bag, the tub where the water comes out being too thin, or some other little odd issues. These also work for an awesome dish washing station while camping or just water to wash your hands or face. Highly recommend.

And a huge thank you to James Preston! Best Amazon review/advice ever. I followed James Preston’s advice above and attached a 1/2” to 1/2” brass shut off valve to my tubing (used aviation snips to make a clean cut through the tubing) to bypass the finnicky slide mechanism that the unit comes with. The tubing should slide over the 1/2” brass fitting with a little effort. Couldn’t find a fit at Home Depot so went to my local Locke plumbing supply and got one there. I’m taking two of these to Africa for my family as we move over and, based on some testing last summer, am very excited for them.

This is a decent little camp shower. I was too impatient to test its heating capabilities, as the lake water with which I was filling it was already a refreshing temperature. Will say it takes some time to fill by dipping in the water, but if you're using a faucet you could fill the full five gallons. I only filled it maybe 1/3 of the way and that was enough for four quick showers, although more like sponge baths. Rolls up nice and compact, but might be improved with a removable hose. Hung it from a tree with some line through the well-made handle, and enjoyed being able to have a quick morning wash while camping.

I needed this as I was on a mission trip and hot water was almost guaranteed to be unavailable. What I did was heat up a kettle of water electrically and then I filled the bag not even halfway- whatever the kettle held. The temperature was nearly boiling water with no problems. Then I had a large plastic cup that I mixed boiling water with icy cold water for pouring on myself. It worked well. The closure held back the water till it was opened again. I was able to hang it on the shower curtain easily. I never filled it completely so i did not have the heavy problem some users talked about. I did not use the solar features. I would use it again.
