It allows plenty of airflow, I've used it on some very hot rides (100+ degrees) and it wasn't any hotter than wearing my baseball cap. I've been fortunate to not really put it to the test yet, but it feels strong despite being lightweight. I have no doubt that it will protect my head if the need arises.

The other Schwinn helmet (see my review for Schwinn Youth Intercept Helmet, Green) we ordered from Amazon was badly manufactured. Plastic warped. But this one is fine. I inspected the labels inside which show the CPSC logo. Most of them, including this one, were made in China.

    I have been wearing this helmet for about a year. I have two other helmets that were more expensive and that I don't like as well. I have never tested this in a crash, so I can't evaluate that performance area. It is lightweight, comfortable and well-vented. The foam does cause my forehead to sweat on warm days, but a sweat wicking headband takes care of that and keeps sweat out of my eyes. It is easy to adjust to a custom fit. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Straps are well covered under my chin and the adjustment knob behind is well easy to reach to adjust it to be tight enough. Straps are secured inside the helmet, not glued; so, it shows the build quality is well enough. I have them almost 6 months and not and issue so far. Recommended!

This helmet was by far more comfortable and it's nice because you can adjust the dial in the back to fit different size heads. Plus, the design is really fun. It's a purple paisley design in the back and a pearly white in the front. It's fun and stylish, but not too loud and flamboyant. I took the Bell brand helmet back.

    This helmet saved me today. I am a pretty active rider and had never falling off the bike until today. I saw a racoon on the parking lot while going down the road and trying to tell my daughter who was behind me, but I squeezed the front brake instead of the rear brake, I was threw off the bike. I landed on my hands first, then my right shoulder and finally I had an impact to my head. Without a doubt, without the helmet, I would definitely need to get into the ER and who know what other issue I would have.
