I’ve only used this on wet hair and once I’m done detangling my entire head , the amount of hair is about a quarter size . It doesn’t pull your hair out at all. The box states batteries included but I didn’t see any batteries . I also used it on my daughters hair who is a 3b/c and she was tear free . The best way is to detangle small pieces at a time .
