(I myself am an experienced RC airplane and helicopter pilot.) The red one came with a two-port charger that is more convenient to use than the one provided with the green one, plugged into one of those cell-phone-charger / USB wall warts. Flight time is reasonable - about 4 minutes I think (never yet formally timed a flight). The 3 batteries (technically cells!) provide a good flying session, if you charge them ahead of time.

Yaw, pitch, and roll control make flying interesting enough for adults, and they are durable enough to survive our younger grandchildren (5 to 7 years old). The longer flight times let you spend more time focussed on your piloting skills, and having 3 batteries allows each of the kids to take a turn before taking a break to charge the batteries. The only complaint for this drone is the same for every other drone on the market that is flown by line of sight; at longer distances, it can be difficult to tell the front from the back.

    My 7 and 10 year-old boys have been flying these drones at least 3x/week for the past 2 months. The multiple included batteries charge rapidly and allow them to fly almost without interruption. I'm particularly surprised at the durability -- my boys try to intentionally crash these drones, and yet somehow they continue to operate. The only problem has been occasional hair/carpet fibers getting caught up in the axle of the propellers (because my sons try flying into blankets, under sofas, etc)... but a little tweezer-work resolves the problem each time. Highly recommend for your kids - and get one for yourself too. :)

The skills developed learning to fly this drone carry right over to when you upgrade to a larger, more expensive, drone. I have a HS 200D and an Autel X-Star Premium but I still rely on the HS210 to keep my flying skills sharp when the weather isn't suitable for outdoor flying. One issue, which Holy Stone Customer Support was aware of, is that the controller doesn't "like" Duracell AAA cells. Use Energizer AAA cells and you'll be OK.     I bought one of these for my 8 year old son and he mastered it in a day. I did need to do the initial pairing and trim steps for him, but once that was done he was fine. We've only used it in the house, but he can get through a charge with minimal crashes = I particularly like this design as it protects little fingers from spinning blades for the most part. Any way it is super stable and 3 batteries gives him tons of time. It was going so well I bought another for my 6 year old daughter. She's less competent, but still able to fly it. We're able to fly both at the same time in the house without issues. My son was able to figure out the pairing this time around, but I still did the trim to get it dialed in.

It's small but mighty and a whole lot of fun to fly for any age with the dexterity. My 9 yo, (the yongest) flew it easily with little instruction and loves it. It has three speeds to fly at; the first speed is just right for learning. The second speed is fun and speedy, but the third speed is super fast and really made fly with outdoors. It also has an auto hover mode, & does flips. The downside is it has no camera and the batteries don't last very long. But it does come with three batteries & two chargers. I'm willing to take those two cons for the fun factor and the smile on my kids' faces.

    I purchased 3 drones from this model for my kids (blue and green, the red one is different). It is amazingly stable for little drone. It can make 360 degrees loops at any height and direction. The fine tuning works nice if you want the drone to cruise at one spot for long time. I like the single button for take off and landing. You will understand what I mean if you ever tried the manual control on other drones. The remote is easy to learn and use even for 6 years old child. The battery life is good and with 3 spare batteries the kids have plenty of time to enjoy it. There are 3 speeds when the kids become more confident to fly it. You may need like me tweezers to safely disconnect the battery without pulling the cable. It is good indoors and I guess outdoor every little breeze can pull it away.

    It was smaller than I expected, but the controller is a normal size so it's pretty easy to use. It has a 3-speed control, hovers and you can flip it which is really fun to see. It comes with 2 extra rechargeable batteries that fit into a small device which you plug into any USB port and takes about 30+ minutes to charge. The battery lasts maybe 15-20 minutes depending on use, but you can plug in the other batteries to get longer flying time. You will know the battery needs charging when the drone doesn't respond normally. You should unplug the battery from the drone to preserve the battery when not in use. It lights up green for the front and red for the back so the orientation is forward with the green light. Be careful flying when windy as it's very lightweight and good gust could take it away.
