Much easier than trying to weave without it. I just repaired much loved mittens for a friend, my first project. I didn't try a design, don't know that I will. It will definitely make repairing hand knit socks and holes in fabric much easier.

The needle is a bit bigger of a gauge than I'd prefer, but much finer and it wouldn't be able to push the thread down when using it (without bending it, that is). It is pretty self explanatory, but the metal is quite sharp amd shredded 2 of the 4 rubber bands provided. I stopped attempting to affix the tool in place as per the "instructions" (in quotation marks, as there is a more than hefty dose of "now finish the owl" involved in those instructions) after the second band snapped, so I could keep my now single spare for the round wood part. You don't co.e out with a patch looking classy or professional, but your holes will be patched and look pretty cool (and your garment will continue to be usable).

Getting all my socks darned with this is amazing. Jeans and shirts. So far so good love it. Need to have extra bag of rubber bands as they continue to break.

I love this little speedweave loom and when I can I'll pick up the larger one! I understand some people's complaints about it, so I'll try and be specific about why I love it.I'm not looking to always do invisible style mending, which wouldn't be darning, etc. You can use similar colors, etc. but darning is a style of mending that is visible. IF you're looking for perfectly invisible mending, this tool probably isn't at all what you're looking for.If you're hoping for a little tool to help you with visible woven patches / mends - read on!The little loom is durable enough, and while I needed to work with the hooks a little at first to get them to move freely, it was no bother at all. They glide from side to side easily now. I wrapped the arms that are used to mount the loom to the disc with some washi tape so they wouldn't be as sharp, and I've not had issues with the rubber bands breaking since.Great little loom that does what I was hoping it would do!

Fairly easy to use, watch a YouTube video for more instructions. I took other's advice and used ponytail holders instead of the supplied rubber bands.I can't comment on durability as I've only had the loom a couple days, but it seems like it will last with normal care.

I suggest watching some YouTube videos before using as instructions included are a bit sparse but it does what it says. I patched two holes in my favorite sweater. I had to redo the first on because I didn't quite get the gist the first time, so maybe do a small practice piece before tackling your desired objective.The patch job in the photo has been through the laundry twice.

I'm new to using this loom, so I'm not very good just yet, but it is fun learning. The rubber bands didn't last even my first attempt, but that's fine I have plenty. I also did realize that you need thicker thread than sewing thread. But the loom is made of good quality materials. I do wish the instructions were a little bit more in detail and maybe even had some pictures for us who are more visual learners. But again, easy fix by looking it up on youtube. So if youre new to this craft like I am, I would recommend watching some videos on how to use it. But all in all great product.

I need to darn socks and slippers, and I wasn't doing well on my own, which is why I bought the darning loom. The instructions that come with it are useless, but I found a You Tube video with great instructions! I darned my first slipper in no time!! It works fantastic!
