I had purchased this to use with a Lezyne Mega bike cpu. Unfortunately, the chainstays on my bike are very wide and the cadence sensor was literally a mm or 2 away from hitting it when mounted on the NDS crankarm. I was about to return it but since I recently got my wife a bike cpu that was ANT+/BT compatible, I figured I’d give it a try. The sensors connected without any problems to the CooSpo bike cpu via ANT+. I’d say these are a great, less expensive alternative to the Wahoo or Garmin sensors as long as they can fit your bike.

I am completely happy with the Magene cycling cadence/speed sensor. I only use it as a cadence sensor. It works fine for my needs. The only thing to be aware of is that there seems to be a 2-3 second delay in registering the cadence with my Garmin 810. After that, it seems to run just fine. The delay is really minimal. I only mention it because it seems like my Garmin cadence sensor transmits quicker once you start pedaling. Again, not an issue that bothers me. Just something to know before you purchase. It would not stop me from buying another one.

I bought this because it was less expensive than another more popular maker of these devices. I slapped it sideways onto the flywheel of my spin bike near the center axle with blue painters tape. It synchs via bluetooth with my laptop running Zwift. I have done 20 rides so far and it synchs and stays connected and provides speed data from which Zwift calculates my Wattage. The bike computer already provides cadence and afaik Zwift does not need cadence to function. It seems to be just what I needed and I have no regrets. Bike I am using this with is YOSUDA L-007A

Due to quarantine, I needed something to measure distance and speed on my indoor trainer. I'm not a fanatic biker, but still wanted some sort of measure of progress. This Magene looked quite similar to versions from other manufacturers on Amazon, but at a much lower price. So far, so good! Mounting on the rear axle was a bit of a pain for my fat fingers, but after a few minutes I was able to get the o-rings into position. I probably should have cleaned the hub first. Using the larger o-ring, it doesn't feel terribly secure, but hasn't fallen off yet. Super easy to pair and use with the wahoo app. At first I didn't know how to calibrate for wheel diameter, but eventually found it. All good, and for $20 you can't go wrong.

No complaints! I bought a pair of them. One is speed and the other is cadence. They work perfectly with my Wahoo Element Bolt. Installation is super easy! Wahoo recognizes them right away. I have done my first ride of 60 miles using them and no issues at all. Never lost signal and never disconnected! I am very happy! By the way, knowing the exactly cadence I want to keep during my rides have been very useful. Despite my Wahoo tells the speed, I think it is more precise if you use a speed sensor on your wheel because wahoo uses satellites which my not be available 100% of the time during the ride causing the average speed to be not that accurate. Speed sensors, on the other hand, are always available and the average speed will be more accurately calculated in the end. They are also half the price of the Wahoo brand ones and do the same exactly thing! Great savings!

The sensor is a typical design. It's easy to switch it between speed and cadence (I was using cadence) and easy to mount. I wanted it to work with my Kinetic Fit trainer/app using Bluetooth. The S3+ cadence unit linked fine, but only provided a cadence value every 2-6 seconds. I attached a pic of a CSV file provided by Kinetic fit app showing the inconsistency of the cadence value. When the S3+ provides a value it appears to be correct. However, when you get a lot of zero values any average cadence is of no value. The data needs to be provided continuously. My trainer has power, speed, and heart rate provided via Bluetooth and all are continuous. I sent an email to Magene customer service and they said I should contact my seller for a replacement. Before doing that I tried updating the S3+ firmware and even a fresh battery. Neither fixed the data issue. Next, I got a replacement unit which did the exact same thing. The only reason I gave the S3+ sensor 2 stars is that exchanging/returning the unit with amazon worked well.

I recently got back into cycling after a few years away, and picked up a Garmin Edge 130 to replace my aging Cateye Mity 3. I grabbed the speed/cadence combo of Magene sensors based on review and price and I have not been disappointed. I've put in a few rides for about 100 miles since getting these, and they have performed flawlessly. Pairing was a snap and was almost instantaneous. I'm using ANT+, so I can't speak for Bluetooth connectivity, but I specifically chose them for ANT+ because my experience has been that Bluetooth can be iffy with various applications and the different versions of Bluetooth (obviously your mileage may vary). The only pitfall I had was my own mistake. Upon taking them out of the package I activated one for speed and the other for cadence without paying close attention to which was which (they are identical). That was easily resolved though, as they went to sleep as advertised. I just picked on up and shook it to activate it, then started the pairing on the Garmin - the one selected happened to be the one set for speed. Once it paired I grabbed the other and gave it a shake and the cadence pairing showed up on the Garmin and completed. I then paid attention to which was which and installed them on the bike in about 5 minutes. Very happy with them so far and would absolutely recommend.

Product has worked fine. I've had no issues with it showing up on my Peloton app. It can be switched from speed to cadence by removing and replacing battery. I found this out on google. Battery life seems good. I've had it for months, and still going strong.

I been using Garmin forever, but I needed two sensors one for my mtb bike and another for the trainer bike. So I decided to give this a try, very easy to setup if you read the instructions! I got them to work on the first try, months later still working fine.
