The ball is small enough to be a choking hazard, and he did put it in his mouth once, so, if you have a younger child, I'd only let them have the balls with supervision.

I would say the quality is as good as duplo. My older kids are building all kinds of different marble runs and it’s so much fun. My kiddos not really following the instructions, they’re preferring to build according to their imagination.

These pieces fit perfectly with our lego duplo which meant that we were able to expand this set with pieces we have from our lego sets(like a propeller for the ball to hit or building a tunnel for the balls to pass through, etc). The criticisms people have left in lower star reviews are not that big of a deal. Yes the balls snap together and are somewhat lightly weighted. Yes, the instructions are a bit confusing. Yes, the pieces are weighted slightly differently than lego brand pieces. Yes, the base plate for this set was a little warped(we ended up using our own lego brand plate to build on). But ultimately it works well and is easily expandable.
