This is the first time I've owned a telescoping ladder. I first learned about this type of ladder from an attic insulation contractor. When I got mine, it was very easy to figure out. I used it to reach our attic from a small closet in our house. I also placed it against a wall with a high ceiling (almost 2 stories) to see how far I could reach. Touching the ceiling is not the greatest idea; you might want a taller ladder for that. But it was pretty clear that I could do work on tall walls.

I purchased this to get on the roof of our RV. I have not used it a lot but have tested getting on the roof. Also I need this so I can blow off the slides before putting them in. I found that the ladder feels more secure standing more straight up. Otherwise, it can feel a little bouncy. I love how it folds down small & can go into the basement of the RV. As many have written you do not want your fingers in between the steps when putting it down. I found that I can push in the latch on 1 side then hold the step & do the other latch & put the step down without pinching my fingers.

So our RV manufacturer cheaped out and didn't include a ladder when they built our unit. For the past year we carried around one of those 4 section ladders that can fold in half like a step ladder, or be fully extended like an extension ladder. It served it's purpose, but was heavy, cumbersome, and difficult to store. This new ladder has all the necessary functionality, but none of those drawbacks. It's relatively light, very maneuverable, and actually stores well in our 'garage'.

When it's retracted it fits easily in my 5th wheel cubby. It is sturdy, but make sure that it's on level ground so that it can get a good footing. Got this for our travel trailer, one of the best ladders I own. It's a little whippy fully extended but I'm glad it goes past the roof a good 4 feet, makes getting down a lot easier. Storage is it's best feature, you don't even know it's there until you want it. Fair warning, if you get it wet, and it's cold, it will freeze together and you will have to thaw it out to extend. Don't ask me how I know 😂.

Mainly purchased to allow me to clean off the top of my RV slides rather than climbing up the RV ladder and walking on the roof. Fully extended there is certainly some flex as you go up the ladder. If you don't need to extend it all the way it still flexes but is cut down considerably I would not use this for a daily use tasks I don't know if it would hold up or not. Really pay attention to the locking latched on each rung making sure they are engaged. It retracts quickly watch the fingers which also means if it ever fails it's going to be a nasty fall which is why I would not use it daily but for my purposes I think it will be fine long term.
