Great little desk for use on a lap, bed, or for using on a normal height desk to make it into a standing desk. My boyfriend and I have both accidentally kicked (hard) it at separate times and ended up with a hurt foot rather than the desk getting damaged at all, which ultimately is great. The stability is generally good, once it is fully extended (90/180/90) it is a bit less stable but still not an issue. I found the mouse rest to be unnecessary and not very practical as it has to be at the same angle as the desktop is so if that isn't flat the mouse falls off, but it is something I don't really need anyway. All in all this is a great item and it has survived a couple very hard kicks, which I thought was pretty impressive.

The stand has three adjustable knobs on each side that move in 15 degree increments in both directions, so it works regardless of where or how you're sitting or the angle your working surface needs to be. You could probably even use it to turn a desk into a standing desk if you work on a laptop. I take it into the kitchen with me sometimes to watch videos while I cook, I can use it in the car on a long drive so I don't have to keep slouching to look at my screen. It works for pretty much anything. It's extremely sturdy since it locks in place. This solves that problem as you can set the angle to blow up and away. Even without the built-in fans, it really helps keep my laptop cool during heavy gaming.However, I was surprised how stable this is -- as others have said, people can get rather animated while gaming and this stays stable while balanced on the couch, even with my relatively heavy laptop. It also has the added benefit that when I get it and set it on a table, I can still put things underneath it so it doesn't take up so much room.The only thing that's suboptimal is the clip-on mouse stand. It looks flimsy, but it's actually pretty stable when it's clamped down. However, it's very small and the clamp assembly limits the amount of movement even more, to the point where it's really not usable.However, I went ahead and gave it 5 stars since even though the mouse pad isn't great, the other parts exceeded my expections enough to balance it out.

I was using boxes and stools trying to adjust height and reach while working from the dining-room table, especially when trying to be able to work standing up. It was tricky at first to get the correct 360 setup for each leg to get it to the right height from the surface I was working on but the sheet with suggested positions was helpful. I really like this laptop desk. My spouse actually bought one and I was really skeptical because of the bad reviews I saw. He struggled a little with adjusting it when he first opened it. However, once we learned how to adjust it and look at the angle indicator, we had no problems. It has multiple positions and is actually really sturdy on our power recliners. The only issue, a minor one at that, it the mouse tray detaches easily and fell off a few times. I ended up putting a piece of two-sided foam tape and it works great now. The cooling fans are a big plus for our computers. Overall, well worth the approximately $40 we spent on it. I ended up buying one for myself too.

This holds is very well. Other ones the screen was ready to tip over. This one at a depth, front to rear, is 11". So it works great. Now, my wife tried it on her Dell 17" which is not as thick and it works even better. I ordered one for her. The configurations you can do with this are great. I highly recommend this one if you have a laptop or notebook bigger than about 10". Also, other ones tended to be wobbly but this one only has a very slight wobble. Hardly noticeable. Then too I am a big guy with large hands and many years in constrution, so I type heavy handed.......
