My first time using it was at 3 in the afternoon. This picture was taken with my iPhone through the lense. I couldn't believe how well and how clearly I could see the moon. If you zoom in you can see the terrain. I HIGHLY recommend this telescope to anyone who enjoys getting a closer look at the sky. It's amazing and you won't be disappointed!

    Got this for my 10-year old daughter. I have to say, it was easy to set up and take down. Works way better than any telescope than I had growing up. She seems to find it easy to operate. I do wish the tripod was a little higher and a little sturdier, but I ended up just using one of my camera tripods for the time being. Definitely cool for the budding astronomer though (and their parents). A friend of mine who is a bit more into it, said this was a decent portable telescope and is now thinking of getting one after checking this one out.

Like many people, we live in an area with a lot of light pollution so to really see the stars we need to travel. I recommend reading the directions carefully and practice a few times at home before taking it out at night. Our first time using at a dark skies location, it was approximately 26 degrees out and the wind was really blowing. Knowing how to assemble in the dark was paramount to success out there. Can't wait to for the next adventure.

    Got to use it a couple times it's awesome and light weight and does what it should though the tripod could be better. I will recommend getting some extra lenses and investing in a Barlow lense because the ones the scope came with are really just for looking at general stars/moon if you wanna see some really cool stuff your going to need some lenses that can really reach out there. I also live right outside city limits so light pollution may have played a role in my experience with it. Still recommend getting this scope if your on a budget and still want to begin a journey into the hobby as I have just begun myself

    This is a great entry level telescope. Be advised you likely won't be able to really see anything beyond the moon, I think the description said you could see the rings of Saturn. I couldn't see Venus much less Saturn however other than that slight over statement of its ability it's a great little lightweight and easily portable telescope and I have thoroughly enjoyed it and consider a good bargain as well.

    It works really well and is quite affordable. As others have said, the one downside is the tripod it comes with is basically useless for everything except maybe an iphone. It's too short and the telescope is too heavy for it. So if you buy this you need to invest in a good tripod as well. But if you do, you'll have a wonderful experience. I plan to take it with me overseas; the fact it can fit in a backpack is so cool.

One thing to consider is to use a better tripod than the one included with this one. The included tripod is jumpy and makes it difficult to lock in the object in the viewfinder. The included backpack is very handy and we like the portability of this.

Beginners will enjoy this telescope. Tripod is a bit easy to shake though, but this might be something that all telescopes have to deal with. When you are looking at stars on the 10 mm lens, make sure to lock your telescope's angle before adjusting the focus.
