a caution which applies to ALL USB hubs: more USB sockets does not necessarily mean you can use more USB devices simultaneously. If you want more USB devices usable at the same time, do some reading online about the way a PC manages USB devices. And consider plugging this Sabrent hub into a USB-2 port rather than a USB-3 port. The overall speed may be slower but the number of simultaneous ports available will be larger. It seems you can have high speed or connectivity but not both simultaneously, at least in the Windows 10 world. You may want to keep a USB 3 port on the PC empty, so it's available when you need high speed such as for a backup drive or DVD player.

I have an all-in-one Desktop PC. The USB ports are never conveniently located it seems, especially after getting them set up where you want them on your desk. This hub seemed to be the answer. It is so far. I like that I can plug 4 items like external drives, my phone charger or to hook to iTunes, my USB drive, or whatever. This seems to have the speed and capability to handle them. Plus, I can have 4 things plugged into it while turning on only the ones I need at the moment. The on/off buttons are conveniently located atop the device and light up when activated. I am pleased with the device thus far. The price point was reasonable too.

After having to switch to a mini PC from a desktop that had 8 USB ports, I used this to bring the number up to 7, which is close enough. I wouldn't recommend plugging an HDD or Flash drive to it unless the other ports are powered off. I just have a printer, a mouse, a keyboard and a headset connected to it and they work great. It is a neat trick to be able to turn off any ports on this USB hub.

I can turn external drives on and off via the Sabrent's individual buttons. Love it. If it gets a bit top-heavy from the cables plugged in, strap the ends of it with a couple thin strips of gaffer/duct tape. I made a label for the side, so I can reach back and hit the right switch, as they are all black on a black background.

So far it works great, it's very small and I can tuck it away. Also it's not as flashy as the others and has simple blue displays for power off and on. It's nice to be able to select each device Vs having them all on. Also it's self powered so no drain on my computer. And I can use the midi devices as standalone with analog gear as it's self powered. So I've found many uses for it, and the design is simple small and tucked away. Also no ground hum or interference whatsoever ever.
