Can easily zoom to 100, 200, 300 yards with the 3 x optical and 6 x digital zoom. Night vision is really clear - just like day viewing albeit in black and white. Like any spotting scope, the slightest movement can bounce you around and away from your target but the unit has a tripod mount to help you here if needed. I would highly recommend this product if you have want to get some night vision capability.

This is not an optical device and it does not operate without batteries. You need 3 AA size batteries to operate it. On the side it has ports for TV connection, SD memory card and a mini USB B port. You can connect the USB B port to a power bank and the device turns on. you can see, take pictures and video during day time but the night vision does not activate. In order to activate the night vision you need the AA batteries. This is truly weird to me, the item than would have been far more reliable and useful if it accepted outer power instead of being alkaline battery reliant.

I have some really good flashlights, but using night vision is a whole different experience. It's sci-fi becoming reality. I've seen rabbits, coons, cats, mice, (but haven't seen coyotes yet). Long range viewing is great, but don't expect to walk around and see up close. The lowest zoom setting is 1.0, so 100% increase in size. If you're looking for a special-ops experience you'll need to look for something else. The clarity is very good. The batteries last a long time if you use lithium; worth investing in. Also glad to know rifle attachment is optional for night hunting. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to hunt or have fun at night without a flashlight.
