I set the device on the edge of a table so once it is long enough the blank can hang over the edge of the table, but it will still twist round. It is easy to set up and the handle is easy and smooth to turn even for small or weak hands. It rarely drops stitches or fails to release the yarn when it should, which I cannot emphasise enough as that's the big problem with many other machines. I find the yarn tension will regulate itself within reason, but you can easily use your other hand to do this if you wish. If you use common sense picking your yarn you should find it does not split or jam the machine at all.

It was easy to assemble. The instructions are not the fullest that they could be but by using them and some tutorials on youtube I soon produced my first hat. You do need to keep a regular rhythm to get the best results but it is fun. I am making hats for charity and can do one in about half an hour, double thickness. All in all I love it.
