My favorite lamp. I could write a whole paragraph about how much I love it, but this is a product review. First off, it consists of a wired platform, remote, and the moon globe. To set it up you need to have your fingers spread around both holding it and onto the platform to keep it still because it is highly magnetic and will otherwise stick to the sides and keep banging on the desk. You push it down until you hear this little buzzing sound and it feels like it's holding on its own, which it now is. At first the noise may seem loud but I honestly don't hear it much unless it's complete silence, and it sounds like the sweet purrs of a cat anyways haha. I've left it on for almost a day and it hasn't gotten any hot, I usually just turn its light off once I'm not in my room. There is the magnet reflecting on the bottom which at certain angles makes it look less circular, but you can't see it that much and it doesn't take away from the power and beauty of such object. Makes me feel all the more connected to the universe and I find it is wonderful for keeping me inspired and creative :)

The initial set up was very frustrating but that was because I didn't read all the instructions on all the pamphlets that came with the moon. When I first went to set it up - it just would not float, it kept sticking to the base and I tried over and over and over .... then my spouse tried over and over and over..... Because we kept trying for over an hour the base was getting very, very, very hot. The base will heat up from the magnetic response of the moon sticking to it and pulling it off and if you repeat this motion for a long time the base will get hotter and hotter- if the moon floats the base does not get super hot. So when setting this up if you can't get it to float after 20 minutes. Stop trying. Unplug the base and walk away... play with puppies and kittens to bring you back into your happy spot.

This is a tiny little treasure that we have enjoyed immensely. It is not for reading or actually adding light it is just a cool thing that will make you happy. It will spin all day but will need a touch to get it spinning again about once a day. It makes a light grind noise when its magnetic pull is stressing and it will go away as soon as the magnetic orbit is back on track. Ours runs all day and night and part of that is about getting it "just right" on the magnetic field. It is plastic and you do see it and think this is so cheeky- but when its all up and you look at it across the room it never looks cheap.
