I work in a small cabinet shop where I have to haul material from one end of the shop to the table saw at the other end. Over the years I have injured both elbows carrying heavy sheets of melamine and plywood. This little device works beautifully! It's built very sturdy and allows one to lift with their whole body. It allows one to carry material in a more comfortable position as well. Yesterday I carried 5 sheets of 3/4 oak ply and 11 sheets of 5/8 melamine. No joint pain at all! The material is still heavy, but the Gorilla Gripper allows better body positioning for the hall the the back of the shop. Well worth the money.

This works great for my purposes. I am a hobbyist woodworker and have mostly been working on building shop projects. Cabinets and such. I like to use 3/4" maple plywood, and each sheet weighs 70lbs. While that isn't that much weight, anyone who's moved full sheets of heavy plywood knows it is difficult to manage. Using this gripper to move the sheets from my trailer into the shop to my storage rack was great. Would definitely recommend based upon my experience, which is all on flat ground. As for some other reviews/questions I've seen on here about it, I can't speak. I'm not climbing up ladders or going up/down stairs with it.

I don't do reviews often, but this time I thought I should share my experience.A couple of months ago, I decided to install my own synthetic turf in a pretty large area (about 2,800 sf). I did all the work myself and had the turn delivered. The first moving them around was tough and had to get my brother to help. Both our hands and forearms were on fire and sore for days. (I'm actually very athletic and strong, but that didn't seem to help).The project needed final finishing and moving large pieces of heavy turf (15'x 45') was not an easy job. I got this gripper and the job became an absolute no-brainer. I was able to move the heavy turf into exact positions and align it all by myself, quickly and without getting sore. This product was a life saver and I will be using it for future products. I'm sure I'll be able to use it for other things as well.

I've had two of these in the shop for years and they are fantastic for moving and carrying sheets of plywood. It's an ingenious little device that allows one person to relatively comfortably carry very heavy sheets of plywood.I've read some negative reviews complaining that it fails if used to carry sheetrock. It is not for sheetrock! It should be obvious, but carrying a full piece of sheetrock from a single friction grip at the top is a recipe for crushing and tearing it.

I love this tool. I'm no youngster and I frequently work alone doing cabinetry and home remodeling. The handle is well-padded and very comfortable. The Gorilla Gripper allows one person to move 4' x 8' panels of plywood and drywall around the shop or work site without bending awkwardly. This, in my opinion, significantly reduces the probability of a lower back strain and eases the load on arms and shoulders as well. While the sheet goods don't get any lighter, the unique grip action and lifting angle of this tool makes it possible to get a firm, properly balanced grip on full-sized sheet goods. By grasping the panel at the center of the long edge, you can easily carry a full size sheet by yourself. Moving the gripper a few inches to either side of center causes the panel to hang from the gripper at an angle suitable for going up or down stairs. The rubber padding and nice wide grip distributes the gripping pressure allowing you to carry 4' x 8' drywall panels without damaging or marking the panel. This is a well-made tool suitable for around the house/shop as well as commercial applications. This is worth the price and has already gotten rave reviews from my arms, shoulders and back. Recommended without reservation.

If you are reading this, you need to buy this tool. I will never again lift a sheet of plywood by myself without it. I take it to the hardware store too. Yes you need to be able hoist the sheet up onto your shoulder with one hand but the carry is very comfortable. The shape of the handle is very easy to grip and the weight is in the right spot that you can slightly arch your back and get the weight onto your back a little if you want. That said, this thing is subject to the laws of physics. The gripping force is limited by the weight of the payload. It does not have a hydraulic clamp that can squeeze multiple sheets together firmly. It doesn't work well with multiple sheets. I also wouldn't use it with drywall but that's not the fault of this tool. Build quality is excellent. This is a real tool not a gimmick

Works just as advertised. I own the contractor version (min 1/2" material) and have used it on plywood (1/2" and 3/4") and 5/8" drywall. I expected that it might damage the drywall, but it never did. I tried it on 10 foot, 1/2" drywall panels and was able to lift and maneuver them without a hitch.

Love this panel gripper! I had tendonitus in both elbows while trying to drywall my living room walls and ceiling using the old fashioned panel holder. Not good at all! Then I got this while doing the same job in my kitchen...what a difference! No more sore elbows! I was skeptical about the holding power but have not had a single sheet drop. Works great!

If you are working solo, this is a huge help. Picking up a 4x8 sheet is not a fun process for very long and this helps you hold the panel in a more comfortable and repeatable position. You could move a pile of boards with this and not get too worn out, but after hauling 5-6 over your head and sideways, your body doesn't appreciate it anymore. At least mine doesn't...

I only have one hand to carry plywood because I use a crutch to walk. This makes carrying sheets of plywood very problematic for me. This item makes carrying a sheet of plywood or MDF a LOT easier when you are working by yourself! I have used several different carrying methods and products and this is by far the best! I can carry a sheet of 3/4" plywood by myself, now!
