I love it for so many reasons. Its a great way to boil eggs, potatoes, noodles, anything basically that you want to not have to drag out a strainer for when your done cooking it. I also used it in my canning process~ it works great for dunking tomatoes in the boiling water so you can remove the skins before processing them! Also works for blanching vegetables prior to freezing them. I just love this new kitchen tool!

Okay so I enjoy making potato salad or just a basket of hard boiled eggs so with the basket I can hard boil the eggs while I cook the diced potatoes on the bottom of the pot. Dice the potatoes and but them in the bottom of the pot and cover them with water put the eggs in the basket and put them on top of the potatoes and pressure cook for five minutes. Unseal by releasing the pressure and put the pot on saute and finish boiling the potatoes while I am cooling and pealing the eggs. I then cut the eggs in half and take out the yolk to mix with mayonnaise and celery salt and white pepper . Dice the whites by putting them into an egg slicer in two directions. Cool the potatoes and dice some red onion and Koshare garlic pickles and diced celery then assemble.

I have a 6 quart Instant Pot. I use these for steaming vegetables like carrots and broccoli. I have also used them to put eggs in. When I wash them I turn them upside down and spray them with the sprayer at the kitchen sink and that usually knocks any loose food off then I wash them. It’s better to rinse them with the sprayer also. You can also put your vegetables in and rinse your vegetables in them as well. I have had no problem with mine and use them several times a week ( have only had them for a few weeks when posting this review).

This one fits in the 8 qt pot with a bit of extra space, and would probably look small in my 10 qt but would still work. I can get at least 4 cups of potatoes in for cooking, which is great. It's also well made and the mesh will not lose small pieces, although getting potato mashy bits out took a little elbow grease. All in all, I am very satisfied with the usefulness of this basket.
